Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) to set up new power plants
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has received order to set up new power plants at the Suratgarh and Kota super thermal power stations.
The state government Wednesday gave the letter of intent to BHEL for the construction of the new power plants, said N.S. Choudhary, chairman and managing director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam.
He said the installed capacity of the Suratgarh power station was 1,250 MW and a new unit of 250-MW capacity was being added to it. Similarly, a 195-MW unit would be set up in addition to the 1,045-MW capacity Kota power station, he added.
He said the order included designing, engineering, construction, inspection and supply of equipments.
He said the plant for Suratgarh power station was expected to cost Rs.4.4 billion and the Kota plant around Rs.4 billion.
He said BHEL had been given 28 months for the new unit of Suratgarh power station and 29 months for the Kota station. (IANS)
